I went there years without catching it then it spread through my workplace like wildfire because people won’t stay home when they’re sick and the one guy has to go to Vegas first chance he got.

My engagement ring used sapphire. Beautiful stone.
We didn’t have a local book store. We had Border’s, Barnes and Noble, and a couple of used book shops. I frequented used book shops for the majority of my childhood and teenaged years. Then they all closed and it was just The Big B’s. And then Border’s went and it was just Barnes and Noble. I’m not convinced that this was all Amazon’s fault. I’m actually inclined to believe that Border’s and B&N both forced out the book stores and then got their crap pushed in by Amazon.
This bit about the big box stores is where I’m at. There’s a Target and two different Walmarts near me. There aren’t any mom and pop independent stores. Everything is a chain.
If you’re on certain types of disability you are limited in how much money you can actually have at any given time. “SSI beneficiaries are limited to only $2,000 in assets of any kind. For married couples or two-parent families with SSI beneficiary children, the limit is $3,000, which creates a marriage penalty because the couple limit is 25 percent less than the limit for two individuals.” Hence the fixed income.
I am still fairly active. Can’t really run much. But I do wear a neoprene pressure sleeve on it most days. That seems to alleviate it somewhat. I can force it to pop but when I do it’s very sharp pain and throbbing for an hour or more afterward. Shit happens I guess.
I have crushed cartilage in one knee. That knee locks by itself sometimes until I force it to pop. I’ve been to several sports medicine docs and regular docs. They can see there is fluid on my knee and inflammation. They don’t think the crushed cartilage is related and don’t have an option for fixing that anyway that’s covered under insurance (I have two different insurances). They have no idea why it locks up. Still.
This assumes that the general Reddit user is even aware that the downvote button is for content moderation (downvoting off topic posts/comments, trolls, and things that are against the rules). The average new user and even probably most of the daily users doesn’t know that I’d wager. Further, tone is difficult to read from text, and a lot of the time if I downvote something at all (I don’t usually see much point) it’s either specifically because the comment or post in question is redundant/adds nothing to the conversation, it’s potentially dangerous, or the tone I get from it is trollish or condescending (and therefore toxic). I wonder if that is considered childish or whatever by the people who get downvoted.
This is kind of adorable.
No offense but this is kind of what happens in real life too. Nazi shows up to local bar. Barman or owner doesn’t throw them out. Eventually they invite their friends. It winds up being known a Nazi bar. People who don’t want to associate with Nazis no longer visit the bar. This is why intolerance of the intolerant is a thing.
What’s happening is to save space Amazon stores all items of the same likeness in bulk containers. The worker who fills the order just picks up one from the container. This is why buying memory cards (micro SD and so on) is such a crapshoot these days on Amazon. They aren’t necessarily shipping you what the independent seller shipped them. They’re shipping you one from a bulk container with the contents that many independent sellers shipped them.
