I’m Canadian anyway, so I have it memorized.
I’d recommend a smaller community to help spread the load. I originally signed up on .world but they were having some growing pains (And a disgruntled idiot ddosing them) so I moved to .ca which helped tremendously.
I’m in Canada, and while there are some options they’re usually more expensive or harder to find. I live nearly 50 km (30 miles) from the nearest city and the few local stores here have extremely limited selections which means I have to drive 100km (60 miles) round trip just to avoid giving nestle any of my money.
Usually it means a once a month road trip to stock up on stuff, but we still have to break down and bite the bullet every now and then when we run out unexpectedly.
I try to stay away from buying nestle stuff, but it’s nearly impossible… they have their mitts in everything, even cat food. (Purina) They have over 2000 brands ffs. https://www.nestle.com/brands
As opposed to the dead dinosaurs that don’t really move all that much.
I kind of do that all the time with store bought pizzas… after I cook them I simply fold them in half and eat. (Sort of like a big pizza pop/calzone)

Jay@lemmy.cato Memes@lemmy.ml•Reddit is letting a public figure harass me with impunity because I outed his company for fraudEnglish61·2 years agoI have and the downvotes are mainly because it looks like you’re overblowing things, and the fact you’re posting this everywhere isn’t really proving otherwise.
I get what you’re talking about, but it’s not that big of a deal. Reddit sucks, and we all know there’s assholes there but you seem a little worked up over all of this. You should find something else to keep your mind busy for a little while and relax a bit. Nothing is going anywhere and you’ll have time to clear your head. We will all still be here when you get back, don’t worry.

Even on home turf it’s not great if the enemy/terrorists can find out where your equipment is. Pearl Harbor was on US soil.
Obviously it would be nice in this specific scenario, but how often would that really be useful in comparison to the potential security issues that comes along with it?
Jay@lemmy.cato Memes@lemmy.ml•Analysts: "Maybe some sort of advanced camoflage?"English16·2 years agoThe only logic I can see with tires is it MAY help deflect/catch some shrapnel, or potentially cushion a dropped charge if hit from above. If its purpose was to mess with image targeting they could just paint shapes on them and not have to toss tires around all the time, or as you say toss some tarps on them.
I got so used to using my turn signals when I used to drive truck that I tend to still flip them on subconsciously even if there’s no other vehicles within miles of me.
Not a bad habit to get into though, I have much worse ones.
