Someone once told me „you can agree with the observation but disagree with the conclusions drawn from them“.
I have the impression that you didn’t get what I‘m talking about. So let me explain:
The meme this person made is saying „everything is political“. Wether the meme is funny or not, it is not conveying a particular political leaning imo.
But you had to bash „the left“ without any reason, hinting that you are on the opposite side.
Taking your unprovoked bashing back to you, I accused you of being anti immigration (also without any evidence).
And now you know how it feels getting bashed for no reason. Instead of being a good sport about it or taking the joke further (like, idk „go cry to stalin.“) you decided to play the victim.
This is the reason why the actual joke „the right cant meme“ is so funny. Because right wing jokes are very easy to grasp and „on the nose“ because right-wing ideology historically appeals to the uneducated with easy answers and strong leadership figures.
Granted, the joke in question here is not really complex either.
You literally started so don’t even try.
Haven’t thought of that. Thanks :)
Thank you. I am only a hobby dev but I‘m also considering contributing to the projects I use for my home lab. It’s quite intimidating as I‘m not proficient in any language but I‘ll give it a go at some point.
Good advice! Thank you :)
Good reason for a dev to start contributing to godot. Be the change you want to see. In open source it is even actually possible.
We all have these people in our jobs, don’t we? I‘m practicing to engage them with a therapist rn. Have been through abuse when I was young and they love to dump on me. My new goal is to pin a notice on my wall that I get for telling the next bully where to stick it (in public). Lets see how that goes.
I really enjoyed reading this. Do you have a blog or something? Have a good one.
Very much so. But dumping on people who are not well is easy. So much so that it seems like an international competition. Glad to see some people still have empathy.
I have seen that recently. Thank you very much.
Yes, of course. Still, nobody plays all of them and the number is growing massively thanks to steam deck. So people should consider it and make an informed decision.
Tell me about it… I researched a ton but the problems with nvidia and the emergence of better and better amd drivers (and I think now intel as well) for linux was pretty hard to get so I ended up with an nvidia gpu and I hate it a little bit. I mean, it works but I assume it would have been a lot easier. Lets hope nvidia gets the hint at some point (like microsoft did by making shit more repairable).
Anyway, good for you. I just switched on my main and so far its pretty good, games wise. Tbf I run everything on steam rn. I haven’t tried the other stuff (blizzard stuff, far cry, etc). I am not opposed to „alternative means“ but I happen to be happy with the reduced price games on steam etc.
I would absolutely try and dual boot for a bit at least. :)
Please consider trying linux. Although I‘m having my fair share of issues using ubuntu desktop atm, I have a complex setup and am insanely thickheaded and entitled because I‘m a linux server admin. So, a windows user who switches to a clean linux mint install should be ok.
Fun fact: a ton of games work wonderfully on linux now.
Conspiracy time: what do you think outlawing abortion is for?
New and frankly awesome perspective for me. Thanks. It should be outlawed as coercion.
This is a great explanation. Thank you very much. :)
Back when I used facebook, not the boomers sent me the worst stupidity evidence but people who were severely undereducated and isolated from others. Those incidentally were also the most likely to fall for alt right propaganda or other conspiracy theories.
Not saying thats the rule, just some anecdotal evidence.
I can’t argue with that. There needs to be immediate change on all fronts.
This means that I wont suck on a paper straw while mr CEO flies in his private jet. Dead easy.
So far, there have mostly been changes that target the lives of people who already have a small CO2 footprint. I don’t even own a car for example.
The mere existence of private jets is an atrocity while the „lesser“ of us need to invest time and effort to change their ways.

Obviously, there are those of us who like to leave their v8 running while in the grocery store and they absolutely need to stop. No emptying the ashtray on the street or going to starbucks every day and get a one use cup every time. But still, I‘m done listening to people telling me I‘m not doing enough.
