Also, are malware-free cursor applications still a thing? Or does it make me an old man to want to do it in 2023?

That should bring up the Pointers tab of the Mouse Properties window. Then it’s just a matter of getting .ani or .cur versions of the pointers you want.

I think I might actually do this
