rqd2.net is live! But what is it? 🤔
https://rqd2.net is my part of the Fediverse. It’s a Lemmy instance intended for radqueer, but everyone is welcome! Want a space free of censorship of paras and transids? Well this is your place!
rqd2.net runs on Lemmy, which is a federated Reddit clone, so anyone can make communities such as @rqd2 and make posts to them. Posts are sorted by their “score”, which is their upvotes minus their downvotes, like on Reddit.
And as I mentioned, it’s part of the Fediverse! It uses ActivityPub, which means websites like Mastodon can federate with it. Communities show up as profiles with the “Group” tag. If you want to post to a community from Mastodon simply mention the group. The first paragraph of your post is what the title will be (so this post is titled on Lemmy as “rqd2.net is live! But what is it? 🤔”)
My profile there is @arisu_exe@rqd2.net.
This has been my passion project for the past month or so. I’m really stoked to have it up and running.
Feel free to sign up if you want! And if not you can still participate in the discussions and communities from the comfort of whatever instance you use.
Thanks for reading!
@arisu_exe @arisu_exe where can i read the rules of that instance?
@grumpy @arisu_exe@rqd2.net it’s in the sidebar on the front page . On desktop it’s on the right side of the page, on mobile it’s a box that says “sidebar” on the top that needs to be clicked to be expanded
@arisu_exe @arisu_exe i clicked to expand the sidebar and i just got a message telling me to login to view
@grumpy @arisu_exe@rqd2.net this is the entire sidebar:
Rules:
You must be at least 13 years old chronologically to sign up, per internet regulations.
All NSFW must be marked NSFW. Please refrain from posting explicit NSFW in non-NSFW communities unless you have good reason.
Nothing illegal under US (specifically Nevada) or local law. You know what that includes. (In case you don’t know what that includes, I mean child pornography [anything that fails the Dost Test], sexually interacting with minors, etc.) We have a zero tolerance policy for anything that fails the Dost test. Anything violating it will result in an immediate ban and removal of images.
No transphobia. This is intended for radqueer transid identities, but also goes for more socially accepted identities.
No paramisia. Users of all contact stances are permitted.
No being discriminatory in general. This includes using slurs in a derogatory manner. Including but not limited to: racism, sexism, ageism, speciesism, homophobia, the aforementioned transphobia and paramisia, and anything else that discriminates against others for any reason.
No doxxing. No sharing IRL names, addresses, details, or anything at all about someone that they haven’t cleared as okay to share.
No being malicious. No trolling, no spamming, no hate speech, etc.
Be nice. Be civil in discussions and disagreements, respect boundaries if someone asks you to stop doing something, etc.
If unsure, ask as an admin! Depending on the severity of the rule you’re breaking you’re subject to anything from a warning, to a full-on ban. If you do something bad that’s not against the rules you usually won’t be punished the first time, but repeat offenses might invoke consequences. Best way to avoid that? Ask! If you’re unsure about whether or not something might break a rule, or if you want to see if an exception can be made, then feel free to ask a mod!

My personal website
A big thank you to Rae and Yuki for helping me with some of the technical things behind the website! I couldn’t have done it without them. (They didn’t know what kind of website I was making, just that I was making a Lemmy instance.)
Note: Lemmy is NOT a finished product; as such, our instance isn’t perfect and is pretty buggy sometimes. Please let me know if there are any problems. For info on Lemmy, visit https://join-lemmy.org/. Be weary when enabling 2FA; it’s been known to not work and lock users out of accounts. If this happens I can let you back in, but it’s a hassle. Currently it seems like 2FA just plain doesn’t work.
Also, please upload links to images when you can that way the server storage isn’t taken up as quickly. Pictures uploaded are not automatically removed when references to them (such as posts) are removed, so consider any picture you upload as permanent and publicly accessible. We are working on ways to purge unused images, but still remember to be careful about what you post online.
If you need to contact me, visit my profile page to see my matrix. I also have an email at admin@rqd2.net, and you can shoot me a message here.
If you wanna donate to help keep the server running then consider sending me some Monero! If you can’t do Monero but want to donate we can work some other method out.

@arisu_exe@freak.university @grumpy@mirr0r.city @arisu_exe@rqd2.net I’m of the opinion that the exact definition of “sexually interacting with minors” needs to be expanded upon. Depending on who you ask, that can be quite a broad spectrum of behavior.
@violet_rose @arisu_exe @grumpy @arisu_exe@rqd2.net I’m concerned about “fails the dost test” that can get subjective easy. I know you have to follow specific laws to stay safe but it’s a very shaky law and it would be good to clarify for users what YOU mean.
@TheSomebodies@freak.university @arisu_exe@freak.university @grumpy@mirr0r.city @arisu_exe@rqd2.net Yeah, honestly, the DOST test is kind of a complete nightmare and I feel like if you’re trying to avoid legal liability reliably, some amount of overcompensation is practically required - exactly what the anti scum wanted, of course. 🫤
@violet_rose @TheSomebodies @grumpy @arisu_exe@rqd2.net basically just any pictures of children intended to sexually arouse, which i know is quite subjective
It’s probably easiest to just not allow photos of real kids
But just don’t upload anything where the genitals are the primary focus (even if clothed). Pictures of kids must be fully clothed and not reveal any genitals or nipples. No pictures of kids in stuff like lingerie
If someone posts something that I think fails the test and could be a warrant to get the site removed I’ll take it down but I won’t punish for the first time
The safest thing to do is show me the picture first so I can decide if I wanna risk having it on the site or not
Yeah I know it sucks trying to figure out what’s legal and what’s not, but you’re right, it’s just antis trying to fuck with us
@violet_rose @grumpy @arisu_exe@rqd2.net anything that violates the Corruption of a Minor law https://www.lsd.law/define/corruption-of-a-minor
@grumpy @arisu_exe@rqd2.net that’s… Weird. I’ll send you a copy paste of the rules
